About The Akron Community Foundation

Akron Community Foundation LogoCelebrating 52 years of building community philanthropy, Akron Community Foundation is a $142.8 million philanthropic endowment with a growing family of more than 300 affiliate funds. In 1955, a $1 million bequest from the estate of Edwin Shaw established the foundation, which works to improve the quality of life in Greater Akron. It accepts charitable gifts and bequests from individuals, families, organizations and corporations committed to making a difference in the community for generations to come. To date, the foundation and its affiliate funds have awarded more than $65 million in grants to qualified nonprofit organizations.

The Black Tiger Gridiron Alumni Club is a Donor Advisory Fund through Akron Community Foundation. Being involved with Akron Community Foundation ensures that your donation will always go to support the football program and no other program at Cuyahoga Falls High School.

Akron Community Foundation gives us credibility and ensures that we will always be in compliance with rules and guidelines as set forth by their Board of Directors and the Internal Revenue Service.
